Movie Review: Black Swan

Natalie Portman is off-the-hook in this movie.  It’s hard to believe that she is not a real ballerina because it takes a lot of skill and talent to pull off all the ballet moves she showed off.  It makes you respect ballet dancers and all their hard work.

The movie is what I would call a psychological drama.  It has its “thriller” moments but none that would make you jump too much.  I would also say that this movie is very “intense” and there were some scenes that even made me feel a little uneasy.  The director, Darren Aronofsky, does a great job with the character development and in helping the audience understand the world that the characters live in.  Now I need to go and watch the The Wrestler.

The Verdict:  See it (matinée price) before the Oscars.
