Halloween 2012

•November 7, 2012 • Leave a Comment

This post is a little late, but better late than never right? After Comic-Con I really wanted to do a female Loki costume.  Luckily Halloween was the next big event to don a costume.  I recruited my sis to be Thor.  I ended up purchasing a men’s Loki costume and the Thor accessories online, then modified and added my own spin to the costumes.

I think I’m starting to like red lipstick.  Hope everyone had a safe Halloween!

Murder House

One of my favorite shows that I discovered last year is American Horror Story on FX.  While in LA a few weekends ago my friend and I decided to check out the house that played the backdrop as the “Murder House.”  It’s on a really cute and quiet street lined with beautiful palm trees.  I would love to live on this kind of street… now only if the Murder House was not one of the neighbors!

It looks like Season 2 of AHS is going to be another crazy storyline.  It premieres next week and I can’t wait!  In the meanwhile… GO GIANTS!

BBQ Pizza Pan

•September 18, 2012 • Leave a Comment

I picked up a BBQ Pizza Pan a few weeks ago from a Pampered Chef party I attended.  I did not have the intention of really buying anything since I don’t cook as often as I should but the pizza on the cover of their catalog caught my eye.  I figured that the pan could also double as a grill pan for veggies.  At $24 I thought it was a fair price.

On my last trip to Trader Joes I picked up some of their pre-made pizza dough with the intention of making a BBQ Chicken Pizza since I was craving some CPK.  Using the BBQ Pizza Pan was much easier than expected and the pizza came out great!  I know it is almost fall but I hope to make good use of the pan since I hate having to turn on the oven.  I prefer to grill outdoors.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 package pre-made pizza dough (makes 2 pizzas)
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 1 boneless skinless chicken breast (cooked and cubed)
  • 1/2 chopped red onion
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (I used monterey jack)
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro

Directions:

  1. Lay the pizza crust atop the BBQ pizza pan.
  2. Spread the crust with BBQ sauce and top with chicken, cheese, and red onions.
  3. Prepare grill for medium-low heat and grill with the lid closed for 18-22 mins turning halfway. In the last 5 minutes, top with chopped cilantro.

I’ve already made 2 pizzas and I’m thinking of doing a more classic pepperoni and sausage this week.  If interested in the exact pan I have you can check out Pampered Chef.

Ostrich Land

The highlight of Labor Day weekend was a random stop at Ostrich Land in Buellton / Solvang.  The sis had the great idea of stopping by this local tourist trap on our way into Solvang.  For $4 admission and $1 for a tub of ostrich feed the stop here was def worth it.

I also have some video footage that I need to upload to YouTube =P

Yosemite

Spent this past weekend on a camping trip with some friends from work (or former work).  I’m so lucky to have a good group of friends who are veteran campers to tag along with.  I also completed a nearly 10 mile hike which is a huge accomplishment for me.

Comic-Con 2012

After a bust last year where we did not manage to get any tickets, we made it back to San Diego for Comic-Con this year.   My favorite part of the Con would have to be the exhibit floor.  There are so many vendors and booths to visit.  I do like the panels as well but it seems that with the popularity of the panels growing more each year the wait time to even get in is now ridiculous.  Here are a few photos.

Here are a couple photos of our costumes for the 2 days we attended.  The first day we dressed up as Justice League and the following day we were the Sirens from Tron Legacy.

Chanel: Black Pearl

•April 29, 2012 • Leave a Comment

My first Chanel polish! (First Chanel anything really.)  I have a few polishes similar to this in my stash but none that are nearly as “pearly” as this one.  It’s a dark grey with some hints of green.  Easy to apply and only took 2 coats.

I’m so excited to have this in my collection!  It’s a unique and trendy color but also very classic.

Dream Shoes and Vegas

I think I finally found my dream pair of designer shoes in Vegas this past weekend.  I did not think I was such a crazed shoe lady but I’ve now realized that I might be.  My shoe closet is overflowing and I have purchased 2 new pairs of shoes this past week.

And then there was the dream pair…..

It was so tempting to snatch them up.  It’s crazy how shopping in Vegas can get out of hand very quick when alcohol is involved.  Now if only I had the guts to drop $650 on just SHOES!

Ladies pic!

It was a quick weekend trip to Vegas to celebrate my good friend’s “30th” birthday.  We had great fun shopping and had dinner at Beso at Aria/Crystals.  I highly recommend, the filet mignon was so tender!

OPI: Cuckoo For This Color

•February 23, 2012 • Leave a Comment

My sister had gotten Khloe Had A Lam Lam from the Kardashian Kolors Nicole by OPI line.  It is a very dark teal shade.  I loved it so much I wanted to find something similar.  I picked up a shimmery version, OPI’s Cuckoo For This Color.  This is also a very dark teal but even better because of the shimmers.

Hope everyone has a Happy Friday!
